Hauganes is located in on the west side of Eyjafjordur bay in the north of Iceland which opens up straight to the Arctic Ocean. The sea is full of healthy fish, codfish, haddock, halibut among other species. The humpback whales and minke whales are common here due to the rich fishing grounds.
You can take a walk down to the pier with a fishing rod and on a good day you’re very likely to catch a healthy fish for dinner. Or you could take a ride with the Whale Watching team but they always end their journey with Sea Angling where you get to keep the catch.
